
The course encourages, and enables, interaction and cross-disciplinary enquiry and applied creativity within contemporary art and design practice. We seek to develop heightened creative and analytical skills and extend your ability to challenge, question and propose innovative and new perspectives in international fashion design. You will be encouraged to develop a critical line of enquiry, exploring and developing design thinking. Emphasis will be placed on pushing existing boundaries in fashion design, utilising traditional, new and developing technologies.

The course incorporates a cross disciplinary ethos, developing new and innovative solutions that will direct the future of fashion. You will explore and develop innovative design and three dimensional ideas in a negotiated brief. Emphasis will be placed on the global fashion marketplace through the honing and refining of your stylistic and design abilities.

Candidates must be able to satisfy the general admissions requirements of the University of Huddersfield and the specific requirements of the course in the following ways.
- A good Honours degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent.
- Alternative qualifications and/or significant experience may be accepted, subject to approval.
- International students with qualifications in 'creative' 'or 'practice' subjects should submit a portfolio of work with their application.
- All suitably qualified applicants are normally interviewed or considered for admittance under alternative arrangements. Interview will be by portfolio of practice based and/or theoretical work and a statement of intent.
