Product innovation and design is vital to business success and the UK design industry is strong with a huge number and range of businesses. This course concentrates on the skills that characterise competent, exciting and innovative product designs. The course also cover the process for bringing the product to market on time. In addition to design skills such as ergonomics, aesthetic design, engineering design and design for manufacture, you’ll also gain skills in parallel working, team-working, innovation and creativity methods and project management.

University's dedicated Placement Unit will assist you in finding a suitable 12 month paid work placement, a valuable opportunity for you to apply your knowledge and skills to a real work environment. Admission Requirements & Selection

Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following:

  • In the region of 260 points from A2, AS levels, AVCE or International Baccalaureate.
  • Entry is also possible from the School of Computing and Engineering’s Engineering Foundation Year.
  • You should also have a pass at grade C or above in GCSE Mathematics.
