
The UK designer fashion industry has an enviable reputation for innovative and original approaches to fashion across a wide range of different products. The promotion of these items relies upon the creative use of media involving sophisticated communication techniques. This course provides you with an opportunity to both learn and understand marketing, promotion, fashion public relations, fashion writing and branding, analysing case studies of successful and profitable promotion campaigns. You’ll combine expertise in fashion, communication and promotion in order to work in all aspects of the fashion industry.

You’ll work closely with fashion design, and some modules have opportunities to participate in live sponsored projects. Optional fieldwork trips take place to major cities as well as visits to trade shows such as Premiere Vision in Paris. UoH strongly recommend that you take the option of a placement year in industry. This year is invaluable as it builds confidence and also provides that vital element of relevant experience which is attractive to employers.

Specific requirements for this course are normally one of the following:
- Successful completion of a foundation course in Art and Design.
- 280 points gained at GCE awards or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education (AVCE) A level or equivalent.
- An EdExcel/BTEC National Diploma with a distinction and merits in a relevant subject.
- Passes in GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above are also required.
- In addition to the above, strong emphasis will be placed on your verbal communication skills during the interview.
