This course is designed for HND spatial design students, or those with similar or comparable experiences, who show outstanding ability and have completed an appropriate programme (or equivalent) with distinction, who wish to extend their studies through an intensive programme at degree level. You elect a specific named award route – Exhibition and Retail Design BA(Hons) – at the beginning of the course and, depending upon your experiences and ambitions, study an agreed area of specialisation within the communicative and display design environment. You’ll study and work alongside other students throughout the course and develop your specialisation through self-initiated and negotiated practical design projects.

Emphasis is placed upon creative and innovative design thinking for a range of spatial design projects, supported by design enquiry and research activities as well as professional practice. You’ll benefit from UoH's excellent reputation for industrial and commercial links.

Admission Requirements & Selection

General minimum entry requirements are one of the following:

  • Foundation/HND with Distinction in Spatial Design, or comparable/equivalent subject area, and satisfactory interview, supported by appropriate portfolio of work.
  • Other suitable experience or qualifications will be considered and/or those with relevant experiential learning experience(s). Plus satisfactory completion of an interview, supported by appropriate portfolio of work.
