
Visual communication is a social as well a commercial utility. We produce graduates who can inform, explore, innovate, persuade, educate, enable and entertain. The course recognises a range of design approaches and students are encouraged to create innovative solutions.

The course has four strands running through all years of the programme.
Practice - Develops skills needed to control the design process and introduces you to its fundamental principles and constructs.
Expression - Provides you with the knowledge and understanding to develop and follow personal lines of enquiry.Skills - Recognises the growing aspect of new media in the discipline and develops skills to enable you to take your designs from concept to digital production.
Contexts - Helps you contextualise and inform your own practice, through the development of appropriate research methodologies.

- 160 points from two 6-unit awards or equivalent, one of which must be in a relevant art and design discipline; or have undertaken a relevant Art and Design Foundation course.
- A Portfolio viewing will normally be required
- Qualifications equivalent to the above may also be considered
- Applications may be made for direct entry to Year 2 from suitably qualified candidates
