The course offers a carefully balanced curriculum based on the twin pillars of architectural design and technology, by developing an understanding of architectural design concepts and theories alongside construction technology, sustainability, material science, services and structures. This is complemented by the study of refurbishment and surveying, project management, contracts, and professional practice. The course has gained recognition as a designated Built Environment course from the Construction Industry Council (CIC), and maintains outstanding employment rates.

Career OpportunitiesGraduates are prepared for widely varied career opportunities within a range of organisations. These include architectural and architectural technology practices, local authorities, housing associations and building contractors. Alternatively you could set up your own own private consultancy and practice as an architectural technology professional. The Architectural Technologist can expect a fulfilling career in a number of roles within a design or construction team. Projects could involve preparing detailed design schemes for new buildings, refurbishment and conversions of older buildings, production of detailed drawings, specification writing and material selection, project management and contract administration and preparing documents for statutory approvals.
Industrial Placement & Field Trips
Although there is no formal industrial placement, the course operates a successful Work Placement scheme where you can gain valuable work experience. Study visits are arranged to places of design and architectural interest.
Admission Requirements & Selection- 120 points with at least one 6-unit award at Grade D or above in an appropriate subject.

- Direct entry to Year 2 (Level 5) may be offered to holders of an HND or HNC in an appropriate subject.
