The purpose of this course is to provide students with a uniquely exciting experience of learning the practical, digital, personal and team working skills involved in moving image production. It will equip them with the necessary studio and location based technical skills along with professional production knowledge to enable them to fulfil a range of types of video based filmmaking, from music promos to documentaries and original drama.

The programme is supported by a study of the history of film and the career models within media production. In term 1 students produce short films while applying their new knowledge of digital capture, editing and post production. In term 2 students create documentary or narrative based projects, while term 3 is devoted to students producing an individual major project fully supported by professional documentation.
