The Communication, Culture and Information Technology (CCIT) program prepares students for the careers of the future. An innovative educational experience offered nowhere else, this joint program of Sheridan and the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) combines academic courses in the arts and sciences with applied courses in computing, visualization, digital media, and design.

Flexible and forward-thinking, CCIT is ideal for self-directed students who think independently. And it cultivates a rare combination of skills that employers crave: adaptability, technological savvy, and an ability to shatter boundaries.

Build a Personalized Portfolio: Within the CCIT major, you’ll choose one of two interdisciplinary specialties:

  • Digital Enterprise Management (business-oriented emphasis)
  • Visual Culture and Communication (artistic emphasis)

Attending courses at Sheridan and UTM concurrently, you’ll combine classroom learning with hands-on, project-based assignments. You’ll learn to engage audiences across multiple media, gaining direct experience in areas such as:E-commerce, Virtual communities, Digital multimedia, Gaming, Interactive storytelling, Web design, Cross-cultural studies 

The program varies from student to student. But everyone graduates with a personalized portfolio of concrete achievements that might include websites, short films, advertisements, product design concepts, social activism campaigns, and more. It’s largely up to you.

Admission Requirements & Selection
  • Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the University of Toronto Mississauga. There is no separate application to Sheridan. Eligible applicants will be selected based on UTM’s assessment of their academic achievement.
  • Admission to CCIT in the spring of the first year of studies will depend on overall academic performance in the two required half courses (CCT100H and CCT101H) and completion of an application.
