On this course you will benefit from our established industry links and our extensive, state-of-the-art digital industry standard graphic design facilities. We strongly recommend you take the option of a placement year. UoH also offers you the opportunity to go on an international study trip.

Career Opportunities

The general nature of the subject offers you opportunities for finding employment within a wide range of consultancies, agencies and design groups, both in the UK and abroad. Career opportunities are diverse including studio designer, design manager, stylist, art director, creative, product development co-ordinator, freelance designer, visual merchandiser and buyer. You can also progress onto teacher training.

Admission Requirements & Selection

Specific requirements for this course are normally one of the following:

  • Successful completion of a foundation course in Art and Design.
  • 280 points gained at GCE awards or Advanced Vocational Certificate of Education (AVCE) A level or equivalent.
  • An EdExcel/BTEC National Diploma with a distinction and merits in a relevant subject.
  • In addition to the above, strong emphasis will be placed on the quality of your portfolio and a satisfactory interview.
  • Other suitable experience or qualifications will be considered.
